Globe
The Globe and Gold Leaf series creates a glowing light and life force, symbolizing our connection to the earth, each other, and the universe. This light is born with us, and continues from one to another, the way all things continue. The gold leaf exudes warmth and eternity like no other material, and the visual result is electricity without a plug. In these series, a silver gelatin photograph is translated onto a transparency and gilded with gold leaf. The glow comes out from the materials and is also reflective from a source outside the object - ambient light or the viewer. The light is continuous in both directions, inside and out.
